Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 22, 2026

This policy describes how we handle personal data for visitors and customers of our UAE-based 3D printing marketplace. It should be read together with our Terms of Service and Refund Policy.

1. Who we are

Printly ("Printly," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website printly.ae and related services (the "Services"). We are based in the United Arab Emirates.

For privacy-related requests, contact us at info@printly.ae or via our Contact page.

2. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to personal data we process when you browse our site, create an account, place orders (including guest checkout), contact support, leave product reviews, manage wishlists or saved addresses, or otherwise interact with the Services.

It does not apply to third-party websites or services linked from our site (for example payment pages operated by Stripe), which have their own privacy policies.

3. Information we collect

3.1 Information you provide

  • Account: name, email address, password (stored by our authentication provider), and optional profile details (e.g. phone).
  • Orders & checkout: delivery and billing details, emirate/city, postal information, order notes, and contact information for guest or registered checkout.
  • Communications: messages you send via email or our contact channels, including support and return requests.
  • Reviews: ratings, review text, and associated account identifier where applicable.
  • Marketing preferences: email notification choices if you manage them in your account.

3.2 Payment information

Card and wallet payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers on our servers. Stripe may collect payment method details, billing information, and fraud-prevention signals according to its own privacy policy.

3.3 Information collected automatically

  • IP address, device type, browser, and operating system
  • Pages viewed, referring URLs, and approximate usage patterns
  • Cookies, local storage, and similar technologies (e.g. cart and wishlist data stored in your browser; session tokens for login)
  • Error and performance data where monitoring tools are enabled (e.g. Sentry, when configured)

3.4 Information from third parties

  • Payment status and transaction references from Stripe
  • Authentication and account events from our database host (Supabase)
  • Hosting and delivery logs from our infrastructure providers (e.g. Vercel)

4. How we use your information

We use personal data to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve the Services
  • Process orders, payments, shipping, refunds, and cancellations
  • Authenticate users and secure accounts
  • Send transactional emails (order confirmations, status updates, receipts)
  • Respond to inquiries and resolve disputes
  • Detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents
  • Comply with applicable laws, tax, and regulatory obligations
  • Send marketing communications only where you have opted in or applicable law allows, with an option to unsubscribe
  • Analyze aggregated usage to improve products and the shopping experience

5. Legal bases for processing

Depending on your location and the type of processing, we rely on one or more of the following: performance of a contract (fulfilling your order), legitimate interests (security, analytics, improving the Services), consent (where required, e.g. certain marketing), and legal obligation.

6. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:

  • Service providers who process data on our behalf under contract, including Supabase (hosting/database/auth), Stripe (payments), Vercel (hosting), and email delivery providers (e.g. Resend via our email infrastructure)
  • Shipping and logistics partners to deliver orders (name, address, phone, order contents as needed)
  • Professional advisers (lawyers, accountants) when required
  • Authorities when required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, and security
  • Business transfers in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to appropriate safeguards

Some providers may process data outside the UAE. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as contractual protections.

7. Cookies and local storage

We use essential cookies and browser storage to run the site (e.g. keeping items in your cart, wishlist, and session). You can control non-essential cookies through your browser settings; blocking essential storage may limit checkout and account features.

We do not currently operate a separate cookie consent banner; if we add analytics or advertising cookies in the future, we will update this policy and, where required, request your consent.

8. Data retention

We retain personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above, including:

  • Account data: while your account is active and for a reasonable period after closure
  • Order and payment records: as required for tax, accounting, and dispute resolution (typically several years)
  • Support communications: for the time needed to resolve issues and maintain records
  • Marketing preferences: until you withdraw consent or object

We may retain anonymized or aggregated data that does not identify you.

9. Security

We implement technical and organizational measures appropriate to the risk, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and secure third-party processors. No online system is completely secure; please use a strong password and protect your account credentials.

10. Your rights and choices

Subject to applicable law (including UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data and, where relevant, other jurisdictions), you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion or restriction of processing in certain circumstances
  • Object to certain processing based on legitimate interests
  • Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based
  • Data portability where technically feasible
  • Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority where applicable

To exercise these rights, email info@printly.ae with sufficient detail to verify your identity. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

You may update account details in your profile and manage saved addresses in your account. You can delete your cart or wishlist data by clearing browser storage for printly.ae.

11. Children

The Services are not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

12. Third-party links

Our site may link to social media or other external sites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Review their policies before providing personal data.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
